Job Title: CNC MillerJob Purpose:Join a market-leading, well-established business in Hull with a strong heritage and a full order book. As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines to perform precision machining operations.Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Setup and Programming: Read and interpret engineering drawings, select the appropriate fixtures, tools, and attachments, and mount them to the CNC milling machine. Write or adjust CNC programs as necessary to meet the job requirements.
  • Milling Operations: Modify machine speeds, tooling, and cutting paths to achieve precise results. Monitor the milling process, make adjustments as needed, and swiftly address any issues.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished components for accuracy and consistency, ensuring they meet the company’s high-quality standards.
  • Machine Maintenance: Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool replacements to ensure the smooth running of the machines.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, report potential hazards, and ensure correct PPE is worn at all times.
Skills and Experience:
  • Ideally, a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or CNC-specific apprenticeship.
  • Experience operating CNC milling machines is essential.
  • Proficiency with tools and performing routine machine maintenance.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and interpreting technical software.
  • Ability to work rotating early and late shifts with flexibility to meet business needs.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with attention to detail and precision.
  • Commitment to quality and upholding company standards.
Salary and Benefits:
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm
  • Salary: £29,500
  • Pension: 5% company contribution, with a minimum 3% employee contribution.
  • Holidays: 25 days of holiday plus statutory days.
