- Setup and Programming: Interpret engineering drawings, determine the necessary fixtures, tools, and attachments, and mount them to the CNC lathe. Write or modify CNC programs as required.
- Turning Operations: Adjust machine settings, such as speed, tooling, and cutting parameters, to ensure precision in turning operations. Monitor the process and address any issues immediately.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished components for accuracy and consistency, ensuring all products meet company quality standards.
- Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and tool replacements, on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Health & Safety: Follow all safety guidelines and regulations, report potential hazards, and ensure the correct PPE is always worn.
- Must have served a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or CNC-specific apprenticeship.
- Experience in operating CNC turning machines is essential.
- Proficiency with tools and maintaining machinery.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and interpreting technical software.
- Flexibility to work rotating early and late shifts, depending on business needs.
