Here at GXO, we are currently looking for a ElectricalMaintenance Engineer, to join our cold store site in Hull, where it’s all about peas!

You’ll be responsible for the upkeep of the site while doing preventative maintenance and reactive work when needed.

You will be joining us on a full time, permanent basis. You'll be working Monday to Friday with the usual core hours of 07:00 -15:00 or 08:00 – 16:00. However, during our peak season for pea processing (Mid-June – last week of August), flexibility in your working hours will be required, as the shift pattern will be, 4 on 2 off, rotating over days and nights, with the hours of 06:00 – 18:00 and 18:00 – 06:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Ensure that all legislative and planned maintenance requirements are carried out effectively.
  • Work within the planned, preventative & predictive maintenance strategy
  • Site electrical conformance to Statutory requirements, Codes of Practice, Legislation & Company policies
  • Part of the team to ensure the engineering department is responsive and acts with pace to site & customer engineering issues.
  • Integrate fully with the operational teams providing support and technical strength

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Formal Electrical bias Engineering Qualification – Level 2 and 18th edition wiring - Essential
  • Inspection & Testing qualification – C&G 2391 - desirable
  • AM1 – access to control cabinets – desirable and additional to the 18th Edition Wiring
  • AM2 – Industrial automation and control systems - desirable
  • 18 months- 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Ability to flex with an ever-changing environment, both where the job is impacted and in attitude
  • A team player with a good level of IT skills
