Our client is a well-established, training provider based in Grimsby but working across Lincolnshire and East Riding, providing apprenticeship and traineeship programmes. Due to the expansion and forward-thinking direction of the company they are looking to recruit a Functional Skills (Maths and English) Tutor.

Purpose of the Functional Skills (Maths and English) Tutor:

The purpose of the role is to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment support and to engage with learners and employers.

Functional Skills (Maths and English) Tutor Responsibilities:

Work closely with learners to increase their skill level

Teaching Maths and English

Plan and deliver teaching, learning and assessment with learners through various methods, supporting the development and production of teaching and learning materials and resources in both manual and electronic formats

Ensure learning programmes meet the required criteria

Create and maintain professional working relationships with employers, learners and other key stakeholders

Supporting the recruitment of young people and adults to learning programmes

Generating new business opportunities within programmes, ensuring learner caseload is maintained

Monitor learner attendance and review the learner's progress

Create reports for all programmes

Set targets with learners and work with them to achieve these

Engage employers with learning programmes, ensuring they are involved in progress reviews

Actively participate in all quality improvement processes, including observations of teaching, learning and assessment

Ensure all learner records are kept up to date and meet internal quality standards

Ensure that all correspondence from the organisation is of the required standard and tone

The Perfect Functional Skills (Maths and English) Tutor Will Have the Following Requirements:

Be occupationally competent

Experience in delivering Maths and English

Experience in supporting young people with a diverse range of needs

Qualifications Required for the Functional Skills (Maths and English) Tutor:

Must have achieved or be willing to achieve, DTLLS/CertEd or the Level 5 Diploma

In addition, where occupational competency qualifications will be delivered within the role, you must hold or be willing to achieve the assessor award (D32/33/A1/CAVA)
