We are currently looking to recruit a MRP Planner at our Aunt Bessie Site based in Hull, Yorkshire

The site includes 2* distinct manufacturing departments, with 7* production lines across 21,000 tonnes per annum. The site is multi-category with savoury and sweet bakery capability covering ranges including the iconic Yorkshire pudding, Birdseye meat pies and Jam Roly Poly. The UK is the main market serviced from the site but there are small volumes exported to IRE and Canada. The site manufactures both branded and private label products.
The role requires strong IT literacy, including excel, excellent communication and relationship building matched with logical thinking and problem solving. SAP knowledge and planning experience is desirable however full training will be given.
Main responsibilities:
Materials Management
- SAP is our lead planning system and needs to always reflect the best view of materials supply.
- Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels while respecting physical stores constraints
- Create PR’s, PO’s and inbound deliveries where required. Communicate requirements to suppliers to agreed timings and format.
- Packaging - create and maintain contracts in SAP (Ariba)
- Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and other support functions in Nomad.
- Manage any deviations with the supplier and if necessary, escalate to procurement/ planning manager for support. Any risks/ shortages need to be highlighted to the planning and materials manager impacted.
- Review supplier bookings versus expected loads due and chase compliance.
- Attend weekly planning meeting
- Attend NPD meetings
- Support the contract tracker process to ensure clear view of any supply gaps or surplus are communicated to procurement. Liaise with buyers to close any issues so that orders can be placed in a timely manner or residuals avoided.
- Ensure compliance with SOX procedures relating to the procurement of materials
- Minimise obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability
- Support resolution of invoice queries
Master Data
- Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP including effectivity dates and scrap factors in Interspec. Escalate any issues to R&D for support
- Material Master Data creation and maintenance in SAP through MDG process including lead time, safety time, safety stock and batch sizes
- Product Master Data creation/ maintenance
- Product Packaging Specification creation/ maintenance
- Review key master data at least annually and ensure any changes are reflected in a timely manner
- Ensure contract tracker master data is kept live and reflects current settings in SAP
