IT Desktop Support Engineer

Mon - Friday - Office Hours

Up to 34k DOE

Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue approaching 1.9 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an IT Desktop Support Engineer to join our busy IT team at the Helsinki Road site in Hull (HU7 0WY). Working across a broad range of technologies and liaising with multiple departments across the business providing support for incidents, problems and requests.

The successful candidate will become an integral part of our forward-thinking IT team, undertaking certified and on premises training covering numerous systems and software. With our industry leading facilities and ambitious growth plan, there has never been a more exciting time to join our team.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to);

  • Build and install PC's and peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, mobiles, tablets related to desktop infrastructure and in accordance with IT policies and standards
  • Maintain PC's and peripheral devices with planned Preventative Maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, networking and peripheral technology
  • Responsible for the update of the IT Help desk ticketing system by maintaining accurate records in respect of actions taken, histories and updating information on the system as and when required
  • Create tickets to record technical issues and solutions, escalating issues to senior team members when necessary
  • Responsible for the ongoing patch and vulnerability management of many of the company devices
  • Continually adding to the knowledge database to ensure all technical documentation is fully up to date and relevant
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
  • Create strong working relationships with key stakeholders

Personal skill requirements;

  • Proven work experience as a desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support or Similar
  • Good language and communication skills
  • Certification in Microsoft/CompTIA/ITIL and cisco would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with Office 365, Network troubleshooting and MS Intune
  • Excellent problem solving and multitasking skills
  • Strong experience of working with Microsoft Windows OS with experience of Android/iOS
  • Ability to work as part of a team
