Our industry renowned client is looking for a Mechanical Product Development Engineer to join the team. This role offers the chance to shape the future of our product portfolio, leading the mechanical design and development of new products. You will collaborate closely with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Production) and external partners (suppliers, approval authorities) to deliver innovative and high-quality solutions. Hybrid work available in Hull.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead concept design and material/component selection for new products
  • Create detailed design specifications, drawings, and test reports
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure product feasibility and cost efficiency
  • Develop prototypes using 3D printing and evaluate production options
  • Ensure compliance with product standards and health & safety regulations
  • Provide support through the design, build, and testing phases
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Autodesk/Inventor 3D design
  • Strong communication, time-management, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to innovate and take initiative
Desirable:
  • Experience in product development and injection-moulded components
  • Familiarity with shockproof and waterproof enclosure design
  • Knowledge of electronic integration with mechanical designs
  • Experience with Altium/M-CAD and synthetic over-moulding
  • Understanding of folded sheet metal component design
