A leading food manufacturing company near Hull is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Services Manager to join their team. The company is renowned for its high-quality products and innovative approach to food production, serving a wide range of customers within the food industry. This is a key leadership role within the technical team, offering the opportunity to drive continuous improvement in product quality, operational efficiency, and technical compliance. The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting the business’s growth and ensuring the delivery of top-quality products that meet both customer and regulatory standards.
The Role
As Technical Services Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage the technical services team, ensuring the effective support of production, quality assurance, and R&D teams.
- Oversee the technical processes across production, ensuring all systems, processes, and products comply with relevant food safety standards and certifications such as BRC, HACCP, and ISO.
- Develop and implement technical procedures and policies to improve operational efficiency and product quality.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, to resolve technical issues and improve product specifications.
- Lead technical investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for any product quality issues or customer complaints.
- Support the NPD (New Product Development) process by providing technical expertise in the development of new products and improvements to existing lines.
- Ensure that all technical documentation, including specifications, certifications, and records, are maintained and up to date.
- Monitor and analyse key technical performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure that quality and operational standards are being met, reporting results to senior management.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to ensure the business remains compliant and competitive.
