If so, we want to hear from you!About the Role:Consortium Professional Recruitment are representing a long standing construction business in the Hull area. They are looking for a Sub-Contract Buyer, who will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing sub-contract agreements to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will work closely with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to procure specialist services and materials while ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure and manage sub-contract packages across various construction projects.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings and value for money.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring high performance and quality.
  • Work closely with project managers, estimators, and site teams to align procurement strategies with project needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal standards.
  • Monitor and assess supplier performance, addressing any issues proactively.
  • Assist in cost forecasting and budget management for subcontractor costs.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Previous experience in a Sub-Contract Buyer or Procurement role within construction.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial awareness in dealing with subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, NEC) and procurement best practices.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications to assess subcontractor requirements.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office.
