The Role:
As a Quality Control Leader, you will:

• Team Leadership:
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day activities of Shift Quality Technicians and Apprentices.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and development opportunities while addressing any disciplinary issues.
  • Provide cover for the Quality & CI Manager and Shift Quality Technicians during periods of absence.
• Process Improvement:
  • Collaborate with the Quality & CI Manager to implement new projects, technologies, and systems of work.
  • Actively drive continuous improvement across the site.
• Product Quality and Testing:
  • Ensure performance testing of current products adheres to specifications.
  • Oversee testing of new products and assist in defining product specifications, documenting results through the trial process.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and product investigations where required.
  • Assist with Measurement System Analysis, Gauge Repeatability, and Reproducibility studies.
  • Monitor and challenge production vision and inspection systems to improve efficiency.
• Compliance and Audits:
  • Conduct GMP site audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Complete customer questionnaires, training records, and relevant administrative tasks within the Quality department.

Your Skills and Experience:
We are looking for a team player with the following qualities:

• Demonstrable leadership experience managing multi-discipline teams.
• Solid knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management system requirements.
• Logical problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing environments and challenges.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to support colleagues under pressure.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office packages.
• GCSEs in Maths, English, and an engineering-related subject (preferred).
• Experience with smart factory solutions (IIOT) and their integration is advantageous.
