GSL Education are seeking a skilled and reliable Design and Technology Lab Technician to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Hull. This is a full-time opportunity, ideal for someone with practical workshop skills and a passion for supporting students in a creative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain tools, equipment, and materials for D&T lessons

  • Support teachers in delivering practical lessons safely and effectively

  • Ensure the workshop complies with all health & safety standards

  • Operate and maintain machinery including the band saw and other power tools

  • Assist students with practical tasks, offering guidance where appropriate

Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a Design & Technology environment

  • COSHH and other qualifications that are applicable.
  • Confidence operating workshop machinery, including band saws

  • Good knowledge of health & safety in a school/workshop setting

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through GSL Education)
