Generator Engineer – Shift Work (Nights)

WB Power Services is currently recruiting skilled Generator Engineers to join our growing team at our Huntingdon depot.

Shift Pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off, working nights (12-hour shifts).

The Role:

  • Conducting planned and reactive maintenance on a range of generators.
  • Working a 12-hour shift pattern (4 on / 4 off) exclusively on nights.
  • Occasionally assisting other engineers in the field, with a company vehicle provided.
  • Diagnosing faults and performing breakdown repairs.
  • Liaising with Coordinators to ensure efficient scheduling and planning.
  • Adhering to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Collecting parts from suppliers as required.
  • Keeping accurate records using the company’s bespoke management system.

The Person:

  • Time-served Mechanical/Electrical Engineer or qualified to NVQ Level 2 or above.
  • Experience with generators ranging from 20-1500kVA.
  • Ability to perform risk assessments.
  • Previous experience in a mechanical engineering role is highly desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence (maximum of 6 points) – willing to undertake towing training if needed.
  • Confident in dealing with customers from a variety of sectors.
  • Comfortable communicating both in person and over the phone.
