Job Description/Duties:

This is an exciting short-term opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work across two In-Patient Rehabilitation Wards located in Ely and Wisbech. The wards have a total of 17 beds, and your role will involve a variety of clinical and supervisory responsibilities.

Your main duties will include:

  • Assessing New Patients: Conducting functional assessments for new patients admitted to the ward for in-patient rehabilitation. This includes evaluating their home environment and planning for discharge, while setting goals to facilitate recovery.
  • Treatment Plans: Forming and implementing treatment plans tailored to the needs of each patient, supporting them throughout their rehabilitation journey.
  • Supporting Junior Staff: Providing supervision, guidance, and delegation responsibilities for junior members of staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Multidisciplinary Team Meetings: Attending and contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings, whiteboard meetings, and remote meetings, discussing patient flow and ensuring efficient patient management.
  • Ward Oversight: Having an oversight of the ward’s day-to-day operations, collaborating with the team to ensure smooth functioning and patient progress.

You will work under the supervision of a Band 7 line manager, providing you with support throughout your role.
