A supportive and innovative SEN school in Soham, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join their team as an Assistant Head - SENCo.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the school's SEN provision and making a real difference in the lives of the students. As an Assistant Head, you will:

  • Work closely with the Head of School to implement and develop the school's SEN policy and provision.
  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of effective interventions and support strategies for students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Liaise with parents, teachers, therapists, and external agencies to ensure a holistic and collaborative approach to supporting each student's individual needs.
  • Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress, ensuring accurate record-keeping and effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Play an active role in promoting a culture of inclusion and understanding throughout the school community.

About You :

  • Be a qualified SENCo or qualified Teacher
  • Have experience as a SENCo
  • Experience in leadership
  • Willing to submit an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS).
  • Complete Child Protection Training. Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young persons they are responsible for, or come into contact with.
