Are you a passionate Humanities Teacher with a dedication to supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

We are seeking a Qualified Humanities Teacher to join a well regarded SEN School in Soham on a part-time (3 days a week), permanent basis. This role is term-time only (39 weeks including 5 inset days), providing an excellent work-life balance while making a real impact in the lives of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Humanities lessons (History, Geography, and Social Sciences) to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Create and implement individualised learning plans to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged and valued.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a positive learning experience for every student.
  • Supervise Teaching Assistants and support their contribution to lessons.
  • Act as a form tutor, providing pastoral care and supporting students' well-being
  • Promote careers in humanities through themed events, educational visits, and guest speakers.
  • Attend staff meetings, training, and school events.

About You :

  • Strong subject knowledge, classroom management, and ability to motivate students of all abilities.
  • Effective communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
  • Willing to submit an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant qualification/experience.
  • Complete Child Protection Training. Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young persons they are responsible for, or come into contact with.
