Service Care Solutions are looking for a dedicated Family Support Worker to join the Family Time Support Team team at Knowsley Borough Council . This is a vital role where you will be supporting children and families during court-ordered family time sessions. The role involves direct engagement with children and families, ensuring that family interactions are supervised, and children's wishes and feelings are recorded accurately. You will also be responsible for providing detailed reports and attending relevant meetings.

  • 36 hours per week
  • 18.22 LTD per hour inclusive of holiday pay
  • 6 month initial contract with possibility of extension after this

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise family time sessions, ensuring safe and supportive interactions between children and their families.
  • Complete 'wishes and feelings' documentation for children and provide clear, factual reports on family time activities.
  • Attend meetings with families, social workers, and other professionals as required, contributing to discussions and planning.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in the analysis of family time reports.
  • Provide high-quality support to children and families, promoting a positive and respectful environment.

Requirements:

  • A DBS check is required for this role.
  • Experience in family support or a related social care field would be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Good written communication skills for report writing and documentation.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal hours (evenings and weekends) when needed.
  • A caring and empathetic approach to working with children and families, ensuring their needs are prioritised.
