Job Type: Full-timeHourly rate: £23.82 PAYELength of role: Initial 2-3 months We are seeking a proactive and skilled Finance and Place Planning Officer to join our SEND team. In this vital role, you will support the management of SEND budgets and assist in planning the provision of educational placements for children and young people with SEND. This position is ideal for someone with a background in finance, data management, or administration who is passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).Day-to-day of the role:- Work closely with the finance team to monitor the SEND high needs block and other relevant budgets.- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of SEND-related expenditure and funding.- Maintain and update financial records relating to SEND placements and services.- Process requests for funding related to SEND placements and provisions, ensuring compliance with funding regulations.- Identify patterns in SEND expenditure to support cost management and decision-making.- Liaise with schools, academies, and other providers to gather information on capacity and provision.- Provide administrative support for the Head of SEND and other team members on finance and place planning activities.- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and meeting materials.- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the SEND team to ensure processes run smoothly.- Respond to routine queries from schools, families, and other stakeholders.Required Skills & Qualifications:- Strong numeracy skills with experience in managing and analysing financial data or budgets.- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools.- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders. -Knowledge of SEND services and an understanding of the SEND Code of Practice. -Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and reporting.
