Progress Teachers are recruiting for an SEND Teaching Assistant on behalf of a lovely school in the Ibstock area of Leicestershire (LE67). This is a full time long term position to start ASAP until July 2025 as a minimum, this position could also become permanent for the right candidate!

 

We focus on long-term and permanent employment, meaning that you return to the SAME school every day, therefore offering consistency not only to staff, but for the students also, with often this resulting in you transferring across onto schools contract.

 

The successful candidate will be working 1:1 to support a child in Y2 with a diagnosis of Autism, accessing a different curriculum and needs continuous 1:1 support. You may be asked to work with other pupils with a SEND diagnosis where needed. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with pupils with a variety of SEND Needs including Autism, ADHD, Sensory Needs and Physical Disabilities
  • Develop resources that enhance learning
  • Foster a positive learning environment through interactive activities.
  • Assist with behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions, including de-escalating and re-directing behaviours.
  • Monitor and track progress of children's development.
  • Work closely with the school's SENDCO
