Junior Decarbonisation Analyst

East London

Junior Decarbonisation Analyst needed for a well-established sustainable energy organisation based in the East London area who are looking for a Junior Decarbonisation Analyst to join them on a permanent basis in the strategy and decarbonisation team helping to develop decarbonisation roadmaps for existing and new schemes.

What the role entails:

As a Junior Decarbonisation Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Support the Decarbonisation Project Manager in the development of decarbonisation roadmaps for existing and new networks
  • Manage the progress of options appraisal, techno-economic modelling and business case development activities
  • Review, monitor and report back on progress and alignment with concession 5-year plans and against decarbonisation roadmaps, including key opportunities and risks
  • Develop roadmap summary documents and other communications outputs (e.g. GIS maps) to discuss our decarbonisation plans and support Concession teams and partners in their decarbonisation journeys
  • Work with the Business Development team on project origination and bidding activities
  • Analyse the impact of zoning proposals and Advanced Zoning and communicate this to/support the Concession teams and the wider business where relevant.
  • Work with the Energy intelligence and Concession teams to support carbon reporting (scope 1-3 emissions)

Experience required for the Junior Decarbonisation Analyst position:

  • Degree preferred but open to diversity of experience or previous experience of working in an engineering and/or low carbon energy in project focused roles
  • Knowledge of district heating, major infrastructure and energy-related markets desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information in a straightforward and clear way
  • Capability to work effectively with individuals at every level of the organisation and to create collaborative relationships
  • Ability to manage uncertainty and risk and their presentation to decision-makers
  • Ability to propose and develop commercial propositions to deliver on business objectives
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Economic and financial modelling and investment grade business cases experience desirable
  • Word, Excel and PowerPoint proficiency, GIS knowledge desirable
