We work with a range of processes and materials including CNC, metalwork, casting, wet spraying and other finishing. We are a dynamic, creative team, working across two sites in South-East London and Falmouth, Cornwall.

Who We are Looking For
We are looking for a Senior CNC Technician to oversee the operation of the companys CNC department on a variety of interesting projects, who has experience in programming, design and fabrication using an array of materials.

The correct candidate will have experience in the manufacturing of prototype, production, and bespoke work alike, with strong capabilities in design, programming & machining, and experience working in a precision engineering environment. We are looking for someone who has a positive, proactive attitude, who is able to problem solve and motivate others.

The Role
The Senior CNC Technician is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the CNC machine, including setting up, selecting appropriate tooling, loading materials, monitoring the machining process and inspecting finished parts for accuracy. The role involves using design, programming and machining knowledge to work on a variety of complex projects, ensuring all work is produced to specification. The Senior CNC Technician will also oversee all H&S for the department alongside the Workshop Manager, including all necessary maintenance of the machines.

This is a full-time role with a 40-hour week, worked over four 10-hour days, allowing a three day weekend. Working hours are 08:00 to 18:00. The role is based at our South-East London premises, which is located two minutes walk from Bellingham train station.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC router to cut, drill, and machine various materials, predominantly aluminium but including woods and plastics
  • Read and interpret digital files, specifications, and projects to determine the correct machining process and parameters
  • Select and install appropriate tooling for each job
  • Load and unload materials onto the CNC router safely and efficiently
  • Monitor the machining process and make adjustments as needed to maintain precision and quality
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications
  • Oversee all maintenance on CNC router, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool replacement
  • Maintain accurate records of production output and machine maintenance activities
  • Responsible for all associated waste management
  • Oversee stock taking and purchasing of consumable items for the department
  • Assist with purchasing as required
  • Alongside other members of the team, keep a photographic record/documentation of the fabrication process for all projects
  • Work at all times within the Company Structure and using the established Company Systems
  • Comply with all Health and Safety policies, procedures and Risk Assessments for the Company
  • Housekeeping of all elements including premises, people and equipment to the highest possible standard
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workspace

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 2-years experience in CNC programming and operating
  • Experience in the manufacturing of prototype, production, and bespoke work and working in a precision engineering environment
  • Experience in manufacturing tight tolerance parts on CNC machinery and in various materials
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting CAD models and designers specifications
  • Familiarity with various machining processes and tooling
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Computer literate with the ability to use Rhino, preferred
  • RhinoCam / ArtCam software knowledge also preferred
  • Keen to learn and develop and assist in other departments.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Must be able to lift and move heavy objects, safely with aid
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to operate machinery in a noisy environment
