A Business Manager is required to join the Accounting & Finance department within the Public Sector. This is a temporary position demanding both financial acumen and strong managerial skills.

Description
As the Business Manager, you will lead and manage a dynamic and complex function that supports all elements of the Parking Service. You will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Purchasing & Purchase Orders: Ensuring efficient and effective procurement processes are in place to support the service.
- Invoice Payment: Managing the timely payment of invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
- Income Reconciliation: Overseeing cash and electronic payment channels, ensuring accurate and consistent reconciliation.
- Third-Party Invoicing: Managing invoicing processes with third parties in line with contractual agreements.
- Audit: Supporting internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Reporting: Providing regular, detailed reports on financial and operational performance to senior management.
- Tariff & Price Setting: Leading the review and setting of tariffs and pricing, ensuring alignment with business goals and market conditions.
- Systems Administration: Administering IT platforms and systems integral to the operation of the Parking Service, ensuring they are running smoothly and are well-maintained.
- Contracts: Managing the contractual obligations with suppliers, partners, and third-party providers.
- Strategy & Policy Development: Developing and reviewing strategy and policy documents that drive the direction of the Parking Service.
Profile
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience in a business support or management role, ideally within local government, parking, transport, or service industries.
- Strong knowledge of financial processes including purchasing, invoicing, income reconciliation, and audit.
- Experience with tariff and price setting, preferably within a public sector or service-focused environment.
- Strong IT skills, including systems administration, and an ability to manage and improve complex IT platforms.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams and guiding them through change and improvement.
- A strategic mindset, with the ability to develop and implement policy and strategy documents.
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial and operational data.
