We are seeking a dedicated and skilledCraftsman/General Operativeto join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring high standards of quality across various tasks. This position requires a blend of mechanical knowledge, customer service skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. To be responsible for undertaking plumbing, painting, and carpentry related tasks. Carry out comprehensive repairs and maintenance, service to installations, equipment, machinery, ground maintenance and building services within a Market complex.
Responsibilities
- To utilise a wide range of plumbing, carpentry, welding, metalworking, painting and other craft skills in the repair, maintenance, and installation of a wide range of equipment, fixtures, and fittings to the required quality standard to ensure the continued efficient operation of the site.
Qualifications
- Must hold or be studying towards a recognised plumbing, carpentry or electrical qualification and have relevant and proven experience of general maintenance including plumbing, painting, carpentry, and metalworks .
- Hold an IPAF license or be willing to obtain through training an IPAF license to use hydraulic working platforms (MEWP)
- Hold a fork-lift license or be willing to obtain through training a forklift license.
Experience Required
- Significant and demonstrable experience of general maintenance work.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.
- Experience in providing advice and information to a wide variety of stakeholder as well as presenting appropriate methods of communication such as diagrams.
- Experience of identifying key problems and offering solutions.
- Experience in identifying type and quantity of materials required to meet a programme of work.
