We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Head Teacher to join a well-regarded Secondary Jewish School in Redbridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspiring leader and a commitment to promoting academic excellence. (English specialism is desirable but not essential)

This is a part-time, long-term position, requiring availability three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). The school needs someone that can commit from the 30th April to the 30th July.

Role: Assistant Head Teacher

Compliance Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must provide the following:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Head Teacher in a secondary school
  • Strong subject knowledge and teaching experience in English (Not mandatory)
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning
  • Experience in curriculum development and school improvement
  • A valid DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Professional references covering at least two years of employment

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Teacher in the leadership and management of the school
  • Cover and deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages
  • Lead on teaching and learning strategies to enhance student progress
  • Oversee staff development and mentoring programs
  • Ensure a positive and inclusive school culture aligned with Jewish values
  • Monitor student performance and implement strategies for improvement
  • Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and external stakeholders
