A secondary school in Redbridge is looking to appoint a Head of English to lead the English departments and maintain and raise the existing high standards. This is a school where students enjoy studying English language and literature and perform exceptionally well at GCSE and A-level. They are looking for someone with a passion for English alongside the desire to push students to develop and excel in the subject. The right candidate will have high expectations of the staff in their department and students. Lead by example and be a role model, whilst looking at ways to consistently improve learning and outcomes, Be approachable, and willing to work across the Trust sites.

Responsibilities • Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils • Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils • Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge • Plan and teach well-structured lessons and be flexible to teach KS3 & KS4 levels. • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils • Make accurate and productive use of assessment • Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
