The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Computer Science Teacher to join our team full-time from January 2025. This permanent position offers the opportunity to inspire students in the exciting field of Computer Science across Key Stages 4 and 5. The successful candidate will be passionate about technology and education, delivering engaging lessons that challenge students to think critically and develop a strong understanding of programming, algorithms, and digital literacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured Computer Science lessons in line with the curriculum.
  • Inspire students to develop an interest in programming, computational thinking, and real-world applications of technology.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Computer Science exams, providing support for their academic development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, offering constructive feedback and support.
  • Contribute to the development of the Computer Science department, including resources and schemes of work.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity and inquiry.
  • Provide pastoral support to students, encouraging both personal and academic growth.

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong subject knowledge of Computer Science and its application to secondary education.
  • Experience teaching Computer Science at GCSE and A-Level.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A passion for technology and a commitment to helping students achieve their potential.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities.
