HR BUSINESS PARTNER

Permanent Role - Full Time

CIRCA 55 - 60k Per Annum

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated HR Business Partner to join and support our client's management team with a leading manufacturing company based in SE London. The HR Business Partner will play a critical role in the set up and overseeing of all aspects of Human Resources operations within this well established blue-chip organisation. You will be responsible for ensuiring that HR practices align with company goals, while promoting a positive and productive workplace. This position requires a strong understanding of employment law, employee relations, recruitment, and performance management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Providing a comprehensive , results focused HR service, you will partner with the senior leadership team to offer strategic vision and advice which support the delivery of key business objectives.
  • Communicate all aspects of HR processes to management teams and become an ambassador for the business.
  • The role is generalist and self-supporting requiring successful implementation of policies and processes covering recruitment, compensation and benefits, training and development, employee relations as an example
  • You will be viewed as one of the go-to members of the team to provide advice and support on a broad range of HR related matters including colleague engagement, performance, discipline and grievance, attendance, remuneration and various other complex employee relations issues.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for manufacturing, sales and administrative roles, ensuring timely placement of qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate onboarding and induction programs for new hires to ensure smooth integration into the company.
  • Foster a positive work culture by promoting employee engagement initiatives, team-building activities, and wellness programs.
  • Monitor employee satisfaction and provide solutions to improve morale and productivity.
  • Support Line Managers with effective and efficient performance of their teams, facilitating appropriate feedback on any potential issues or areas of weakness.
  • Support management in performance appraisal processes, providing guidance on setting clear objectives, regular feedback, and career development.
  • Coordinate training and development programs aimed at skill enhancement and compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure HR policies and practices comply with UK employment law and industry-specific regulations with support from external experts .
  • Manage and maintain accurate employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection legislation (GDPR).
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety Coordinator to ensure employee safety standards are met and maintained in line with legal requirements.
  • Oversee the processing of payroll adjustments, leave, and attendance records.
  • Maintain accurate HR systems and ensure timely reporting and analysis of key HR metrics.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a HR Manager or Senior HR role preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong and current knowledge of UK employment law, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience with HR software and systems, ideally with a solid understanding of payroll processes.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • Knowledge of workforce planning, shift patterns and labour forecasting would be desirable but not essential.
  • Full-time position based in South London.
  • Standard working hours with occasional flexibility required depending on business needs.
  • This is a site based role initially with scope for Hybrid working (2 days maximum at home) once the HR function is established.
