The Role

We are looking for a passionate and caring Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team in Lewisham. As an LSA, you will work closely with students, teachers, and other staff to provide tailored support, helping students overcome challenges and achieve their goals. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide in class support for SEN students and other students where needed.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with additional learning needs, including SEN and EAL (English as an Additional Language).
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/carers.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Support students with social and emotional needs, promoting confidence and resilience.

About You

We're seeking an enthusiastic individual who is committed to supporting the education and well-being of students in Lewisham.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with secondary age students in an educational setting (preferably with SEN experience).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • A degree or previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant would be ideal.
  • Knowledge of strategies for supporting SEN, such as autism or dyslexia.
  • Experience using assistive technologies or resources.
