Rate: £92.11-£100 per day

Location: Redbridge

Milk Education are seeking a talented, driven and passionate individual to provide KS3 – KS4 students support on a 1:1 and/or small group basis as a SEN Teaching Assistant.

We are in partnership with an OFSTED ‘Good’ school in the London Borough of Redbridge for pupils aged 11 – 17 with mixed diagnoses od Autism, ADHD and SEMH.

This schools provides rewarding positive achievement, behaviour and academic success and provides children and young people with essential life skills in preparation for adulthood. Their main focus is to help children and young people develop healthy and trusting relationships with peer groups and adults both in school and the wider community.

Learning Support Assistant Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff, in and out of the classroom to consistently support children with additional needs. Working with individuals, groups of children and classes.
  • Establish productive working and nurturing relationships with pupils, according to individuals needs acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • Be a pro-active and solutions focused member of the team. Someone who will contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school modelling a can-do approach.
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement, including in the moment feedback, coaching, marking and correcting misconceptions
  • Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement and develop self-esteem.

Learning Support Assistant must haves:

  • Evidence of successful experience in a Primary school PRU /  SEMH provision with pupils with SEND , behaviour and SEMH needs.
  • Confidence, enthusiasm and a passion for learning
  • Ideally a sports background as our children are very sports orientated
