HR Assistant required in Derby
Location: Ilkeston (Office based, Monday - Friday)

The Role
As an HR Assistant, you'll work closely with the Director of HR, supporting key HR processes across multiple clients. This is a career-progressive role, offering the opportunity to develop your skills in employee relations (ER), recruitment, and HR administration. While previous exposure to employee relations (ER) is required, you don't need extensive experience. If you've sat in on disciplinaries, taken notes, or shadowed HR colleagues in ER-related tasks, the hiring manager is happy to consider you! This role will provide further training to help you develop in this area.
Key Responsibilities
- General HR Support
- Managing the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to leavers
- Acting as the first point of contact for HR and employee relations queries
- Drafting employment contracts, letters, and employee handbooks
- Coordinating HR activities such as appraisals, reviews, and disciplinary meetings
- Maintaining HR systems and producing reports for operational use
- Managing the shared HR inbox and responding to client queries
- Supporting clients with job adverts, applications, and interviews
- Managing LinkedIn Recruiter and job board accounts
- Assisting with offer paperwork and onboarding new hires
- Researching HR and employment law topics to create useful resources
- Writing blogs and newsletter articles on HR topics
- Assisting with social media content and webinars
Who We're Looking For:

Requirements:
- Some prior HR experience, ideally in an administrative or advisory capacity
- Basic exposure to employee relations (e.g., sitting in on meetings, note-taking, or shadowing)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ambition and a willingness to learn and grow in your HR career
