We are now recruiting on behalf of our client for a Logistics Coordinator, based in Ilkeston.

 This is an excellent position for an individual looking to undertake a challenging, seasonal administrative and planning role in a Transport & Logistics environment.

Duties-

  • Ensuring efficient time slot planning of all inbound and outbound movements and working closely with the warehouse and production functions to achieve prompt and organised turnaround of vehicles
  • Duties include managing all aspects of the route planning function to ensure deliveries are planned efficiently and delivered within a timely manner.
  • Liaise with contracted hauliers, commercial admins, site teams and other depots to fully understand the scope of requirements and produce cost efficient plans for approval.
  • React rapidly and accurately to delays, issues and changes and will need to proactively contact site teams and contract managers regarding the delays and on-road issues.
  • Manage production and stock discrepancies through internal supply chain departments.
  • Make delivery bookings and amendments, finalise logistics arrangements, oversee deliveries through to completion.
  • Liaise with haulage contractors and suppliers, clearly and professionally communicate information via telephone & e-mail.
  • Promptly and accurately undertake various transactions through internal and customer systems.
  • Ensure all orders and internal transfers are checked as regards stock to ensure fulfilment and then planned in line with customer expectations (timeliness).
  • Queries/issues are investigated and resolved in a timely and competent

  • Best practice customer service and a good telephone manner
  • An interest in transport, logistics, customer service & administration
  • Flexible, especially in relation to working hours and to taking on different tasks.
