Import/Customs Manager Salary: up to £40kHours: Mon-Fri Location: ImminghamGrafton Recruitment are working with an established shipping and logistics company in the appointment of a permanent Import/Customs Agent. Working within a busy team, the successful candidate will be responsible for predominantly import, creating custom clearance and planning (covering busy unique shipping lanes). A multifunctional role, with custom clearance knowledge, customer service and attention to detail key when servicing customers, liaising with suppliers/hauliers and accurately using a tailored SAP system.Import/Customs Manager Main Duties:

  • Working within a longstanding team, servicing customers covering various busy shipping lanes
  • Creating customer files using information from SAP
  • Customs clearance using Descartes/Chief
  • Utilising a SAP IT system for bookings/quotations
  • Arranging delivery of cargo through third party hauliers
  • Arranging collection of cargo from terminal/warehouse
  • Passing supplier invoices
  • Obtaining rates from suppliers to create quotations
  • Producing discharge lists for terminals

Import/Customs Manager Applicant requirements:

  • Previous experience within shipping and logistics environment is required
  • Experience in creating custom clearance is essential
  • Ability to work well within a team, meeting shared objectives
  • Excellent communication skills, delivering key and concise information clearly
  • Organised with ability to prioritise a busy workload
  • Committed approach to your work with an excellent eye for detail
  • Available to work on a weekend (one in 5)
