Our client has been a leader in advanced system integration for decades; optimising efficiency & delivering performance on a massive scale within the Nuclear sector.
They currently require a Technical Author to join their team based in Reading and support on a variety of Electrical Engineering projects. Within this role, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation related to their electrical engineering projects. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering concepts and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, organize, and write user guides, manuals, and other technical documentation for electrical engineering projects.Â
- Collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to gather and interpret technical information.
- Review and edit documentation for clarity, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
- Create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to enhance the understanding of technical content.
- Maintain a library of technical documentation and update it as necessary to reflect new developments and changes.
- Ensure all documentation is accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Adhere to relevant document standards and regulations ensuring Life Time Quality records and kept up dated.
- Will be site based 5 days a week working as part of a team on a critical contract.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related field.
- Proven experience in technical writing, preferably in the field of electrical engineering.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using documentation software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and CAD tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Desirable Requirements:
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) or similar.
- Experience with content management systems and technical communication tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical engineering documentation.
