Technical Author | Nuclear Industry | Electrical / Control Systems Projects | 6 month Contract | Negotiable rate | Inside IR35 | Reading On-Site

MERITUS are recruiting for a Technical Author with strong Electrical experience to join our client in Reading on an initial 6 month contract to work within the Nuclear industry. PLEASE NOTE: Candidates eligible for the role MUST have Nuclear experience and MUST be eligible for SC Clearance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation related to our electrical engineering projects. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering concepts and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop, organise, and write user guides, manuals, and other technical documentation for electrical engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to gather and interpret technical information.
  • Review and edit documentation for clarity, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to enhance the understanding of technical content.
  • Maintain a library of technical documentation and update it as necessary to reflect new developments and changes.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in technical writing, preferably in the field of electrical engineering.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and terminology.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical engineering documentation.
