Position: Project Supervisor

Location: St Fergus / Hybrid (3 days per week on-site)

Duration: Initial 4 Months (Potential for permanent opportunity)

Day Rate: Circa* £500 via Umbrella

To enact the role of Engineers Representative on behalf of the client at their St Fergus site. To ensure that the site based construction activities across the business are efficiently managed in accordance with policies and procedures.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work closely with the Principal Contractor (PC), design teams, and stakeholders to ensure compliance, safety, and efficiency.

Your key responsibilities include:

Health, Safety & CDM Compliance

  • Ensure the Principal Contractor (PC) proactively discharges their Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) duties, particularly in managing all safety aspects of construction-based activities.
  • Facilitate regular site safety walks, coordinate meetings with all contractors, and ensure controlled access/egress to the site.
  • Maintain a site log/diary documenting key activities, issues, and safety observations.
  • Review the suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure safe and effective working practices.

Project Coordination & Progress Monitoring

  • Review and provide input on the deliverability of the PC Site Delivery Programmes, proactively monitoring all activities and advising the Project Engineer of any programme risks.
  • Chair weekly Site Progress Meetings with all contractors, ensuring clear communication and issuing formal meeting minutes.
  • Oversee and ensure a drawing documentation system is established and maintained on-site, keeping records updated with the latest working drawings and revisions.
  • Provide contract administration support to the Project Manager, including raising Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and gathering evidence for contract evaluations.

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Conduct inspections to assess materials and workmanship, ensuring they align with industry construction standards.
  • Undertake the role of Engineer's Representative, monitoring site construction activities and ensuring adherence to contract documentation.
  • Review and confirm that the PC Commissioning Programme is acceptable from a delivery and feasibility perspective.
  • Issue site instructions, following agreement with the Project Manager, and authenticate any record sheets issued by the Principal Contractor.

This role is essential in ensuring the project is fully prepared for construction in summer 2026, supporting a safe, compliant, and efficient transition into the build phase.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in supervising construction projects, ideally within the gas, energy, or heavy infrastructure industries - Including basic project management skills.
  • Valid current UK Driving Licence
  • Good understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices and policies
  • Good knowledge of CDM Regulations

Desirable:

  • NEC4 contract experience
  • Recognised training or qualifications on the Health, Safety and Environmental Management
