Our client, a leading Accountancy Practice in the Inverness area, is looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Accountant. This is a busy and varied role with the opportunity for further personal and professional development within a highly supportive environment. Duties include
- Preparation of statutory accounts including posting and reconciling sales and purchase invoices.
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Dealing with enquiries and providing advice and guidance to ensure best bookkeeping practice.
- Collating accurate and up to date information.
- Online submissions to HMRC
- Communicating with a variety of internal and external contacts on a regular basis.
- Daily use of accounting software systems as well as MS Office.
Person specification
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience within a practice accounting environment is preferred but not essential.
- Strong IT skills including MS Office and experience in accounting software.
- Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to undertake training and learn new skills, systems and procedures with ease.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to deal with clients and colleagues in a professional manner.
