Driving & Installing Operator

£23,800 from April

We are recruiting for a Delivery & Installations Operative position for our client in Inverness who are market leaders in Scotland within their industry. Applicants must be physically fit and have a full driving licence, and some relevant experience in warehouse loading, commercial driving, delivery and/or basic installation of equipment would be desired and full training will be also provided.

The core part of the position involved helping to load equipment onto vans, driving long wheelbase vans to client premises around the Highlands, unloading the equipment into their premises and getting it into position, and then carrying out a very basic set up of the equipment (which will then be followed up by one of your technical colleagues who will take care of the advanced part of the install). Some office furniture building will also be required in the role and full training will be provided for this.

Due to the nature of the position and its duties, a good level of fitness and high energy levels is essential as it involves loading and unloading, although this is also heavily assisted with stair-crawler equipment.

Key Duties

  • Driving company vehicles whilst transporting equipment to customers
  • Very basic install of equipment at client premises
  • Demonstrate and educate the client by following the product installation guide
  • Undertake safety checks on company vehicle
  • Use of stair-crawler equipment
  • Follow General Installation and Health & Safety guides for installations

Key Skills

  • Fully qualified and competent vehicle driver who has also held their driving licence for a minimum of one year
  • Good IT Skills in Microsoft Office
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Good problem-solving skills

The main working hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week) although some flexibility is required due to customer requirements and locations, and position may also include some paid overtime.
