Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical fitter to join their well established team based on the outskirts of Inverness.

Working a 42-hour week and reporting directly to the Mechanical Supervisor you will be working days from 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday with occasional backshift included on a rota basis. In this role, you will be responsible for providing maintenance and mechanical support across the site, ensuring the reliability of equipment, maintaining assets in safe condition, and developing and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing maintenance and mechanical support across the site.
  • Performing all Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Reporting any areas of concern to the supervisor.
  • Ensuring a complete shift report is left in the logbook, detailing any issues.
  • Reviewing maintenance and operational logbooks at the start of each shift.
  • Identifying any Maintenance Improvement Projects (MIP) initiatives for the supervisor.
  • Ensuring all stores' withdrawals are properly logged.
  • Reviewing the workload at the start of each shift and completing tasks as required, signing off on all completed jobs.
  • Completing all tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Assisting in achieving area goals through performance.
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

To be successful for this position you must have a minimum of City & Guilds or ONC Level education in a mechanical discipline, along with a completed four-year apprenticeship and relevant prior experience.
