Orion Group are working with a successful Highland based Contractor with an enviable order book of projects to source an experienced Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting time to join our client as they're at the core of delivering various projects within the SSE ASTI Framework which involves investing over 10bn to upgrade the electricity transmission network infrastructure across the north of Scotland.

The following key tasks and requirements for the role include but not limited to are:

Commercial Duties

Contract Administration - Knowledge of NEC Contracts highly advantageous

Monitoring Costs and monthly Cost Reporting

Preparing monthly valuations and final accounts.

Handling variations and disputes.

Monitoring project progress and submitting regular financial reports.

Managing and mentoring junior staff.

Preparing and monitoring subcontracts

Project Management

Liaising with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.

Attending project and site meetings.

Advising on contractual and commercial risks and issues

Working knowledge of Primavera P6 advantageous

Ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and industry standards.

General Requirements:

Minimum 5 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor

Civils/ energy sector background advantageous with sub station experience preferred

Working knowledge of NEC contracts

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.

Excellent negotiation, financial management, and project management skills.

Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Proficient in relevant software such as MS Office and construction management software.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Working knowledge of Primavera P6 advantageous
