Position: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Inverness

Our client, a leading global engineering firm specialising in water sector projects, is expanding its commercial team in Scotland and is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join them in Inverness. We welcome applicants from all levels of experience, particularly those with a background in the water industry.

As a Quantity Surveyor working on Scottish Water projects, you'll collaborate closely with the commercial team, taking charge of managing multiple projects from tender to final account. Your role will involve providing crucial commercial support to operational teams and other stakeholders as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing projects from tender to final account.
  • Producing accurate project cost forecasts.
  • Managing subcontract works packages, including interim assessments and change management.
  • Handling daily commercials on projects.
  • Procurement management.
  • Interpreting and evaluating expenditure reports.
  • Preparing and issuing subcontractor documentation.
  • Assessing compensation events and issuing early warning notices.
  • Providing commercial support to operational teams and stakeholders.
  • Interacting with internal and external decision-makers.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant discipline.
  • Experience with fast-paced, high-volume projects.
  • Proficiency in commercial management and subcontractor procurement.
  • Demonstrated experience with NEC contracts.
  • Preferably, experience in water projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Professional qualifications such as MCICES or MRICS, or working towards full membership.
