Time Appointments are currently recruiting on behalf of a thriving business based in Ipswich who are looking to appoint an experienced Finance Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly professional individual with a strong work ethic, to work for a rapidly expanding local business.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers and vendors.
  • Maintaining and reconciling financial records using accounting software Sage 50
  • Checking monthly HMRC postponed VAT statements
  • Processing sales and purchase ledger invoices and credit notes
  • Completing payroll processes, and processing timesheets
  • Issuing contracts and processing leavers
  • Managing the company pension scheme
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly profit and loss accounts
  • Assisting the external accountants with any queries relating to the preparation of the annual accounts and posting any adjustments
  • Adhering to financial regulations and internal policies
  • Conducting data entry tasks with precision
  • Providing general admin support as and when required

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a finance focussed role
  • Confidence in accounts payable processes and best practices
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • A proactive approach with the ability to solve problems independently
