NXTGEN are working with a leading organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to take ownership of key financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting and supporting the wider business. The successful Assistant Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and supporting month-end reporting.

The role requires strong technical knowledge and proficiency in Sage 50.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments.Maintain and reconcile financial records using Sage 50.Process sales and purchase ledger invoices and credit notes in GBP, EUR, and USD.Check monthly HMRC postponed VAT statements against the system.Process payroll for up to 20 employees, including timesheets, contracts, and pension administration.Support the preparation of monthly management accounts.Assist external accountants with annual accounts and posting adjustments.Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.Provide general administrative support as required.

About You:

? Proven experience in a finance role, ideally within a fast-paced environment.? Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 and Excel.? Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.? Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines.? Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset.? Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.? Ability to work independently while collaborating with the wider team.
