Our client Scottish Power Renewables are looking for an Offshore Support Engineer to join their team in Lowestoft. It is a contract role approved for 12 months (Inside IR35). The position will work within the project Construction team reporting to the Project Construction Services Manager. Key areas associated are: • Ensuring QHSE policies and procedures and not only complied with but maintained throughout the project lifecycle • Responsible for supporting the Construction Services Manager in the coordination of all onshore and offshore construction support services • Directly support all project packages with works planning, logistics coordination, walkdown and sign off of assets throughout the offshore works • Assist in the preparation of resource plans and works forecasts associated with construction services onshore and offshore works • Review, approve or reject contractors risk assessment and method statements • Ensure the subcontractor’s compliance with contractual obligations • Ensure SPR interests are protected both onshore and offshore • Assist with all offshore construction services scope of works for unscheduled maintenance including all offshore safety equipment monitoring • Assist with the management and implementation of onshore site facilities • Is totally aware of the contractor’s on site and all relevant team leaders of the contractors working for the project and daily coordination of the works between the different contractors. Supporting into the project scheduling, progress tracking & reporting, development of measures, check and verify the contractor’s progress, costs and daily reports: • Prepare work requests for review prior to issue to contractors Review contractor work request responses • Support with the hand over from contractors to the operation & maintenance department • Coordinate provision of spares, consumables, tools and equipment • Participation on regular coordination meetings for ensuring the continuous and smooth delivery of services provided • Manage all offshore HSE and Quality issues and immediately communicate with the respective parties regarding the nature of events / incidents / problems during construction • Assist with the operation of the site office including sub-contractors working for the site office • Support with coordination between Installation and Commissioning (assist with hand overs / responsibility transfers and offshore daily planning) • Participates in daily coordination meetings • Attend progress meetings with the contractor(s) and take receipt of progress and daily reports • Ensure that the construction support works are completed to specification and schedules, review completion certificates prior to sign off • Clarification of the interferences with the involved contractors: prioritization of works if necessary refusal of planned works if necessary • Daily tracking of the status of works and disrupted workflows in relation to the installation schedule Contractor works planning • Assist with preparing resource allocation plans in relation to offshore installation activities • Assist with overseeing the day to day running of the Construction warehouse • Produce risk assessments and method statements for offshore / onshore works Must hold and maintain full GWO training, and offshore medical certificates • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an onshore supervisory role within the offshore energy sector • Significant administrative background • Strong communication skills • Strong customer orientation skills • Advanced awareness of Health and Safety related to construction • Proven ability to work in a construction site environment • Excellent IT Skills are essential • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, to collaborate effectively with the wider project team including third parties, contractors, and subcontractors Delivery team (Construction Service Manager, Offshore Construction Manager, Installation Managers, Site team) • Project packages • Quality, Environment and Safety • Commissioning management and team.
