We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to work on a major marine infrastructure project in Ipswich. The role offers a competitive rate on a long-term contract with a main contractor.
About the role of Commercial Manager:
As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial aspects of the project, which includes marine, environmental, and infrastructure works, such as cofferdam construction. You will be working on packages exceeding 50 million, ensuring financial efficiency and contractual compliance throughout the project life cycle. As noted, the project is based in Ipswich, but the contractor is prepared to pay for lodging for candidates that do not live in a commutable distance.
Responsibilities for Commercial Manager:
- Lead commercial management on a major marine infrastructure project
- Oversee contracts, procurement, and financial management
- Manage large work packages valued at over 50 million
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure cost-effective and timely project delivery
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and negotiate variations as necessary
- Provide regular financial reports and forecasts to stakeholders
Requirements for Commercial Manager:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Background in marine or environmental works highly desirable
- Experience managing packages valued at 50 million or more
- Strong understanding of contracts and procurement processes
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying, construction, or a related field
