Davies Talent Solutions are looking for a Ledger Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis.What is on offer?

What will you be doing as a Ledger Analyst?
  • Responsible for the active management of payable amounts (inwards balances) on designated accounts spanning all portfolios managed by our client. It is important that this portion of the ledger is proactively managed, rather than relying solely on reactive behaviour. To collaborate with Reinsurance Team to ensure an overall position is obtained when considering Inwards business settlements to third parties
  • Responsible for the investigation and reconciliation of unallocated cash for all portfolios managed by our client. This should include using own initiative to obtain documentation to support cash balances, review of system to understand cash allocation and/or contact broker or cedant for further assistance when required. Achievement of cash reconciliation to be obtained, or recommendation for bad debt write on/off where appropriate
  • Ensure that all debts are considered to be a potential risk (bad debt) to the company and the escalation procedure is followed so that an appropriate provision can be recorded within the accounts
Desirable Knowledge:
  • It would be beneficial to have previous ledger reconciliation experience which can demonstrate the ability to prioritise and break down complex tasks into component parts
  • It would also be beneficial to have prior experience either within Insurance or more widely, the Financial Services sector. This is not a necessity, but would ease the learning curve with our complex reinsurance business.
