Your new companyAs a SHEQ Manager, you'll be working for a UK-based construction company that offers a range of services in building and construction. The company is involved in several prestigious projects, from major healthcare facilities to modern educational campuses with work spread across the UK. Your new role

  • Legal requirements affecting health, safety and welfare and the adequacy of facilities provided.
  • Suitability from a safety viewpoint of plant, equipment, materials and services, and the validity of all appropriate test certificates, and whether they comply with all statutory requirements.
  • Potential hazards arising from contracts and on the site safety organisation, arrangements and fire precautions are required.
  • Assist as necessary during tendering, planning and pre-contract stages to advise on all safety, health and welfare matters and pre-contract training requirements.
  • Carry out safety inspections and appropriate audits in conjunction with appropriate management to see that statute codes of practice and method statements and company safety arrangements are complied with.
  • Adhere to the company safety reporting procedures.
  • In conjunction with new legislation and company requirements, up-date when required, the Company Safety Policy and advise on its application and effectiveness.
  • Awareness of environmental issues within the construction company environment and the Environmental Manual policy and objectives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • NEBOSH General or Construction
  • Member of IOSH
  • Good knowledge of H & S Legislation
  • Previous experience in a construction health and safety position.
