Bid Writer

Salary: 45k-55k
Role Responsibility:
As Bid Writer you will manage the end-to-end bid process, from opportunity identification to proposal submission, acting as the central coordinator you will manage the timely delivery of high-quality, client-focused proposals.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Develop a thorough understanding of our business, products, and services by reviewing previous bid documents and interacting with sales, technical, and commercial departments.
- Lead and manage the entire bid process from opportunity identification to submission, including post-submission debriefs.
- Define the scope and timeline of bids, coordinating with all stakeholders to ensure contributions are timely and of high quality.
- Collaborate with sales, estimating, and operational teams to develop competitive and compliant bids.
- Ensure all bid submissions are well-resourced and adhere to the highest standards.
- Create, edit, and format winning bids, including case studies, employee CVs, and other supplementary materials.
- Maintain and enhance a centralised library of templates and bid documentation.
- Tailor proposals effectively by gaining a deep understanding of client needs and tender requirements.
- Develop strategic bid plans in collaboration with sales, business development, and operational teams.
- Coordinate team meetings to gather response material and evidence, ensuring alignment with bid programmes.
- Engage in market research, competitor analysis, and client needs assessments to identify new business opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate bid performance metrics to continuously improve our processes.
- Conduct post-bid analysis to refine strategies and enhance future submissions, ensuring compliance and alignment with client requirements and business goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Familiarity with bid and tender portals, including the submission process.
- Strong project management skills with a comprehensive understanding of the bid lifecycle, proposal writing, development, and contract negotiation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly.
- Strong customer focus with outstanding customer service skills.
- Ability to forge and maintain positive working relationships.
