Job Title: Health and Safety Advisor
Salary: 21.99 an hour

We wish to appoint a Health and Safety Manager, (38 hrs a week) reporting to the Site Manager.
First sentence
The key accountabilities of the job holder will be as follows:
- Day-to-Day management and assurance of SHEF (Safety, Health, Environmental and Fire) arrangements.
- Report directly to the Commanding Officer if it is considered further measures are required to achieve compliance.
- Act as focal point for SHEF information.
- Maintain a SHEF Plan covering all the main SHEF management areas which encompasses local issues.
- Monitor all workplace and fire risk assessments for 7 Avn Sp Bn REME.
- Monitor the application of the detailed arrangements for compliance with legislative and MOD requirements.
- Act as the Secretary, write and circulate the minutes of the SHEF Committee.
- Conduct the annual SHEF audits on all areas, reporting findings and produce annual report on the overall standard.
Who we're looking for:
- NEBOSH - National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Good knowledge of SHEF practices and procedures.
- Familiar with Military and/or MOD practices and procedures advantage but not necessary.
- Good interpersonal skills and Computer Literate.
- Has proven organisational skills
- Able to work on own initiatives with defined guidelines.
- Has excellent communication skills at all levels; verbal and written
- Has the ability to meet objectives.
- Customer care focused.
