Join our client's Buy to Let Special Servicing team as a Buy to Let Officer, where you will manage various loan portfolios on behalf of multiple clients. This role involves a range of post-completion loan servicing activities, ensuring compliance with service level agreements, procedures, and current legislation. Our clients include banks, specialist lenders, and private equity funds, and you will be instrumental in delivering excellent service while treating customers fairly and ensuring the best outcomes.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Understand and explain the terms and conditions of customers’ loans.
- Review and process information requests accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Handle standard loan enquiries from customers and their advisors, resolving issues promptly.
- Maintain current and accurate information on customers and their loans, processing any amendments in line with regulatory requirements.
- Inform customers of due payments and ensure accurate collection in accordance with BACS rules.
- Process redemption statements promptly and ensure loan securities are released as per procedures once funds are received.
- Oversee financial transactions in the servicing system, including managing arrears and associated risks with borrowers.
- Take proactive steps in managing loans approaching expiry and conduct annual Anti Money Laundering reviews.
- Liaise professionally with clients, third parties, and other business areas, reporting any system or loan issues and recommending improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong desire to work ethically and with integrity.
- Ability to organise workload to meet deadlines and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Strong mathematical skills for checking redemption figures, instalments, and interest calculations.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written.
- High attention to detail for accurate and professional record-keeping.
- Proactive in managing own workload and eager to learn new systems and concepts.
- Empathetic manner, capable of handling difficult conversations sensitively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
- Desirable: Experience in the mortgage/lending industry, knowledge of buy to let mortgages, and familiarity with financial services regulations.
