Network Engineer - Financial Services - Ipswich/Caerphilly

  • Salary up to £50k per annum
  • 3 days per week onsite

As an experienced Network Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and optimizing our critical network infrastructure. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies while ensuring our systems meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

This position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule.

We're looking for someone who will:

  • Lead technical IT support initiatives to optimise system performance and minimise downtime
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex network issues, working directly with vendors and internal teams
  • Take ownership of high-priority incidents (Severity 1 and 2) and drive them to resolution
  • Implement and maintain network monitoring tools, backup systems, and alert mechanisms
  • Develop comprehensive documentation and reports for network management
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and audit standards
  • Participate in our 24x7 on-call support rotation to maintain continuous service

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in IT/network support
  • LAN/WAN infrastructure
  • Cisco technologies
  • Firewall management
  • Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
  • Network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, VPN)
  • Vendor tools (Fortinet, Citrix)
  • Proven experience working in regulated environments (ISO 27001 compliance)
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
  • Track record of successful problem resolution
