Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily communication with clients from booking stage to final delivery including close cooperation with the team to understand requirements and to provide second to none logistics solutions
  • Expertly handling day to day import ocean freight operations
  • Import Customs processes and formalities
  • Building and maintaining client relations for continued business with customers
  • Confirming delivery requirements and arranging with the Transport Team
  • Supporting customers with general customs advice
  • Identifying clients who will benefit from using Compass (online tracking portal)
  • Creation of customs and import ocean documents
  • Working with HMRC and other customs authorities

Experience / Skills Required:

  • Current experience in customs clearances and knowledge of will give any applicant an advantage
  • Performing Import Customs clearances
  • Competence in handling/submitting additional customs documentation, certificates, or licences
  • Knowledge of Tariffs
  • Bonded customs, Special/Simplified Customs Procedures
  • Understanding of AEO Procedures
  • General Customs Compliance
  • Understanding of Inco Terms
  • Additional declarations for specific destinations and origins
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good problem-solving skills
